Feeling : Kinda bored! |
It would seem after a couple of months working flat out, I'm incapable of just lounging around and relaxing now. I've been back from Madrid for about 5 days and I'm already missing the place. The weather here isn't particularly bad, but I'm just cold all the time. That together with the fact that there was always something to do or somewhere to go while I was out there has left my homecoming a bit of a hollow experience. After just 5 days I'm bored and want to go back. Maybe I should've taken a few days off right after and made that trip to New York, although having said that, I have slept a lot since I got back. I'm not sure if I am geniunely tired, or its just the boredom that's making me sleep. At least I'll have time to catch up on my reading. I'm reading the third book of the Mallorean at the moment. I took books one to three out to Spain with me, but never really had much chance to read them, most of my reading was done on the flights out and back. Having said that, since I've been back I've almost finished book three. Lots to catch up on now I'm back though. Netware 6.5 shipped while I was away. My SEL copy has turned up and I've just installed it a couple of times standalone. Time to test it in my existing tree here I guess. From what I've read, shouldn't be too much of a problem. Not sure about Apache 2 yet though, need to read the security bulletins and see what vulnerabilities there are before I migrate everything over to it. Guess I should do some more work on this site now, seeing how I have all this spare time... |

Feeling : Tired |
Well, I'm back from Madrid! Everything went well, but it was a totally tiring experience. As far as Madrid as a city goes, I absolutely love the place. But living out of a suitcase becomes tedious very quickly, even if you are in a 5 star hotel. The implementation went very smoothly. Probably the best roll-out of a new building I've ever experienced. This was due in no small part to the dedication of the existing team onsite as well as the hard work of the people that I worked with installing the new systems. I'm sure we'll be back in the near future for the execution of phase two of the big plan. If I had to go back there tomorrow, I'd be there in a second. The people, the place and the lifestyle are absolutely amazing. With a bit of luck, there maybe a permanent position arising so I can move out to Madrid :) One word of warning though, if someone offers you something called firewater after a meal....stay well away from it! It'll screw you up for a long time. On that note, I'm off to get some sleep......in my own bed! What a nice feeling... Hasta luego!
