Feeling : Strange...

Well, been a while since the last update....

Been spending some time playing with PHP and MySQL which you'll see if you check out the guestbook pages I added to the site earlier this week. I still have a long way to go with it, but it seems easy enough to pick up.

I seem to be spending more time on The Stone too, the site seems to have come back to life just lately with a steady stream of new puzzles appearing at regular intervals. This is good news, I'm also getting to talk to a lot of new people and guide them through the puzzles which I've done which I'm enjoying immensly.

On the reading front, I finally got my copy of Terry Brooks' Morgawr, The voyage of the Jerle Shannara Book 3. I'm finding it hard going right now, but I think a lot of that is down to the fact that it was so long ago I read book 2, the first few chapters are quite dark but the story is picking up nicely. I'll put up a review in the reading section when I've finished it.

Well, enough rambling on here....time to go learn more PHP stuff so I can get rid of this blog and put my own up :)

Feeling : Un-motivated

Well, another weekend goes by and I didn't achieve a whole lot....

Managed to get Perl and MySQL working on my Netware 6 server, suprisingly simple if you follow the instructions. If you don't, you end up with a server that won't boot. Oh well, I guess that's another lesson I learned.

Watched a couple of football matches this weekend. Firstly I saw Man Utd give Newcastle a trouncing on Saturday, then watched Sheffield Utd get knocked out of the FA cup this afternoon. Have to say that Arsenal didn't deserve to win, but then again I'm slightly biased. I'm looking forward to Wednesday nights match now....bring it on!

I really need to get to grips with Perl, need to get my own blog up and running because I really don't like the layout of this one...

Only one more week to go before I make a fool of myself in a charity football match. Still not sure how I got involved but hey-ho, guess there's no going back now. Should really get a move on selling the raffle tickets too.

Well, back to work tomorrow. I guess I should look on the bright-side, two four day weeks coming up.

Feeling : Tired

Well, spent this evening away from the computer for a change. Makes two nights in a row now, must be some kind of record for me . Did spend most of the evening talking about computers though, so don't get too worried.

Managed to watch a film (Castaway, the Tom Hanks version) in between discussions about routers, switches and VLans. On the whole, an enjoyable film.

I also now have a Cisco router to add to my geek toys in the house. The network here will soon be better than most small businesses have.

Anyways, more later....right now I need some sleep before I have to be awake again to play with more computer stuff :)

Feeling : Quirky

Well, it would seem that this thing is working in a kind of fashion.

Not quite sure about the design and layout of the actual blog, but it will suffice until I can come up with something better myself. Probably will be like this for a while though as I need to learn perl before I can write my own :P
